Improving Public Safety

- New anti-vaping law passed
- New laws regulating E-bikes and gas-powered scooters
- Increased fines for double parking in loading zones and for illegal parking
- Safety measures enacted and enforced: Helmet Law, Peddlers License Law, Vendors Law, Carter’s Law, Taxi and Limousine Law, Cabaret Law
Keeping School Children Safe
Police officers are stationed in Eastchester and Tuckahoe schools, and hundreds of teens take part in supervised programs.

- School Transportation Safety Plan implemented in support of the Eastchester School District
- Portion of Siwanoy Blvd transferred to the Tuckahoe School District to enhance student safety
- A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program continued in schools
- Hundreds of teens participate in supervised dances, concerts, plays, and movie and game nights, keeping teens out of trouble; the program is now emulated by other Westchester communities and recreation departments
Improving Parks, Recreation Facilities and Lake Isle
Fields, parks and Lake Isle have all been upgraded, with private partners paying for the tennis facility and the summer concerts.
Recreation fields upgraded
- Leewood, Haindl Field, Cooper, Chester Heights, Garth Road, Parkway Oval, Labriola and Joyce Road Park
- New LED lights at Haindl Field
Parks upgraded
- Memorial Park, Gazebo Park, Rescigno Park, Town Hall Park and the Eastchester Public Library
- Hundreds of new trees planted each year
Lake Isle
- $6 million tennis facility paid for by Sportime/Shared profits and rents from Sporttime
- Summer concert series sponsored by private donors
- New irrigation system, Golf Now and other improvements on the golf course
- Community center completed and used daily
- Indoor pool complex; public review coming soon
